At Filadelfia Los Angeles, we are dedicated to helping you fulfill your calling in Christ as we equip the saints and build up the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:12-13).
First Steps as a New Believer
Celebrate Your Decision
Your decision to follow Jesus is something to celebrate! The Bible says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Your new life in Christ begins now.
Get Baptized
Baptism is an important next step in your walk with Christ. It’s an outward expression of an inward change—a public declaration that you have chosen to follow Jesus. If you’re ready to take this step, we’d love to connect with you and schedule your baptism.
Read the Bible and Pray
As a new believer, it’s essential to start building a personal relationship with God through daily Bible reading and prayer. The Bible is God’s Word, full of wisdom, guidance, and encouragement for your new life in Christ. Start with the Gospel of John, which introduces the life and teachings of Jesus, and set aside time each day to talk to God in prayer.
Join a Community of Believers
One of the best ways to grow in your faith is by surrounding yourself with other believers who can encourage and support you. At Filadelfia Los Angeles, we offer small groups, Bible studies, and regular church services where you can connect with others, build lasting friendships, and strengthen your walk with Christ.
Growing as a Follower of Jesus
Discipleship is the process of growing and maturing in your faith as you learn to live out the teachings of Jesus. Our Discipleship Program at Filadelfia Los Angeles is designed to help new believers become fully devoted followers of Christ. Through mentorship, Bible studies, and practical teaching, we aim to equip you to live out your faith boldly and confidently.
Our Discipleship Pathway:
A foundational course that covers the basics of Christianity, including salvation, the nature of God, the role of the Holy Spirit, and how to live out your faith.
This step focuses on spiritual disciplines such as prayer, Bible reading, and worship. You’ll learn how to cultivate a daily relationship with God and grow in your spiritual maturity.
Jesus calls us not only to be disciples but also to make disciples (Matthew 28:19-20). In this step, you’ll learn how to share your faith, disciple others, and fulfill the Great Commission.
